International Timber Answers DIY SOS for veterans' village

International Timber has helped to answer the DIY SOS call for help transforming a derelict north Manchester street into a village for former members of the armed forces.

We’re exceptionally proud to have supplied the project’s contractors, House to a Home, with a selection of our White Oak laminated MDF, which will be used for desks and lounge units in the veterans’ houses.

Commenting on our involvement in the DIY SOS project, our Managing Director Tony Miles said:

“It’s been great to support such a fantastic cause – and we were exceptionally pleased to give back to those who have given to their country.”

The project, which is the largest on the hit BBC show so far, saw a frantic finish, with volunteers working through the weekend to get it completed by the deadline. Meeting the veterans face-to-face and seeing the impact our work has had first-hand was an emotional, but highly fulfilling experience.

It’s set to air on October 14th and 21st on BBC1 from 8pm and you can check out the official Twitter account of the show here.
