International Timber supplies Accoya and Tricoya to Ryedale Joinery Ltd

International Timber (IT) recently teamed up with Ryedale Joinery to manufacture and install an ornate bow fronted window in a Grade II listed holiday home in a North Yorkshire coastal town.

The IT team have worked alongside Ryedale Joinery for several years and have undertaken a range of different projects with them – this specific project was for a private customer.

Whilst the project went well, it wasn’t without its challenges. The main challenge was forming the decorative facia. Tricoya was used for this due to its ease of use, strength, light weight and overall excellent performance. Accoya was also used thanks to its similar properties.

These materials were intrinsic to the success of the project. As the property is in a coastal town, where harsh weather conditions are often experienced, ensuring the timber was hard-wearing was especially significant.

Both materials have a 50-year warranty against rot and are very practical, as they do not warp, shrink or expand like other timbers. This enables you to make beautiful, traditional windows and door sets that have a long life and function effortlessly all year round.

Debbie Stronach of Ryedale Joinery Ltd commented: “We have partnered with International Timber for three or four years now, so we have a very good working relationship with all of the team.

“This means we are always kept up-to-date with relevant information, which makes the ordering process flow very easily.

“The service is always exceptional and there will certainly be further opportunities for collaboration.

“We tend to purchase the majority of our timber from International Timber when required and this will undoubtedly continue on future projects.”
