Oak Beams & Boules
Enhanced range of oak beams and boules from International Timber
International Timber is now offering customers an enhanced range of oak beams and boules, reinforcing its commitment to providing an unrivalled breadth and depth of high quality, sustainable products nationwide.
Oak beams, which represent a new product sector for the company, are available in high quality QPA grade as standard, with cross sections stocked ranging up to 300 x 300mm and 5.9 metres in length. Suitable for a variety of applications including timber frame construction and historic building restoration, bridges, lock gates and church lych gates, they also available to order in longer lengths, larger sections and lower grades.
Imported in thicknesses ranging from 20mm to 120mm, oak boules provide a high quality alternative to square edged products which may contain wood from many different logs in one pack. Their superior colour, texture, figure and grain consistency makes them a perfect choice for fine furniture and cabinet work, while the longer lengths and wider widths available are ideally suited to demanding joinery applications such as stair strings and treads, wide door rails and panels.
International Timber is committed to sustainability and its oak beams and boules are endorsed by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) Council; the internationally recognised umbrella for national forest certification schemes. The majority are sourced from the North German region, which offers timber of consistent colouring and large diameter logs for the production of wide oak boules.
Steve Rogers, product and market director at International Timber, comments: “Our enhanced selection of oak beams and boules means we can now offer customers an even wider range of products to meet their needs. The products have been carefully sourced to offer consistent features, making them suitable for projects where quality is key.”
With over 80 years experience of timber, International Timber provides a superior range of products in hardwoods, softwoods, clear softwoods and treated products, as well as standard and bespoke machined profiles.
